Atlus has confirmed development on the next installment in their popular and highly acclaimed RPG series Persona. There has been talk of the next chapter in the series being a direct continuation of Persona 4 rather than introduce a new cast as is typical for the series due to hints at an expanding storyline in the Persona 4 Arena spin-off games. The announcement hasn’t confirmed or denied this speculation, only that the new game will deal with themes of slavery as Atlus’ usual style of living on the narrative edge. Persona 5 is set to release next winter exclusively for the Playstation 3.
In related news, Atlus has also announced two new spin-off games for the Persona series. Persona 4: Dancing All Night will be a rhythm game released exclusively for the Playstation Vita and Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be a dungeon-crawler done in the same style and by the same development team of the Etrian Odyssey series for the Nintendo 3DS. There is also the previously announced Persona 4 Arena The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold now confirmed for a console release on the Playstation 3.
