Red Barrels announced that Outlast 2 was in the works back on October 23, 2014. On October 1, 2016, they announced that the game would be delayed to next year. Today, they have revealed the release date, via Twitter. It will be released on April 25. The original post claims that this only applies to digital copies, but Red Barrels tweeted again to clarify that this also applies to physical copies.
In addition to Outlast 2, Red Barrels will also be releasing Outlast Trinity, which is a physical bundle that includes the original Outlast and its Whistleblower expansion in addition to Outlast 2. Outlast 2 is set in Arizona, and will put players into the shoes of Blake Langermann. Blake is a cameraman working with his wife, Lynn. Both of them are investigative journalists looking into the “seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe.” The investigation will bring about revelations so horrifying that “going mad may be the only sane thing to do.” All of this is according to Red Barrels official website.
Outlast 2 will be available on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Looks like next month will be a good one for Outlast fans.
