PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the massively popular battle royale third-person shooter, is now available for free on iOS and Android devices in the U.S. and multiple other regions around the globe.
Battleground’s was co-developed by Tencent, a mobile gaming company that has its hands in the development of games such as League of Legends, Clash Royale, and Clash of Clans. They also manage Fortnite, one of PUBG’s largest competitors. Whereas Fortnite was recently lauded for upcoming cross-platform play, a free mobile version of PUBG might give PlayerUnknown a boost of its own.
