Nintendo Direct reveals Smash Bros

On March 8th, 2018 Nintendo held a Direct to showcase their Spring and Summer games.

For the 3DS, Nintendo revealed remakes for Luigi’s Mansion and Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. WarioWare Gold, a compilation of old and new microgames, was also revealed with a August release date.

For the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo provided more information for Mario Tennis Aces. New gameplay shows that rackets can be broken, forcing an opponent to forfeit, and special shots are returning. Gameplay for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes was also shown for the first time ever.

Nintendo also announced several ports for the Nintendo Switch such as, Crash Bandicoot: The N-Sane Trilogy, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and Undertale.

However, the biggest surprise was the reveal of Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo Switch. The reveal trailer shows no gameplay, but it does introduce the Inklings from Splatoon as playable characters and reveals that Link will use his Breath of the Wild design instead of his Traditional hood and tunic. The trailer concluded with a 2018 release date.
