Tomb Raider fans, rejoice! The third game in the reboot trilogy, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, has been confirmed for a release date of September 14th, 2018.
With the releases of Tomb Raider in 2013 and Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015, the rebooted adventure of Lara Croft has been consistently robust in nature. While it brings little new to the table, the games do an excellent job at reinventing the iconic character from 90’s-era silliness to modern gaming’s grittiness. If the title, preview, and overall tone of the teases this morning are any hint, the path is only going to get darker from here.
As it was confirmed today, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be released in September for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is NOT a timed exclusive again (RotTR was kept from PS4 players for a year), but beyond that, few details are known about the game’s development at this time.
To capitalize on the tease, a miniature trailer was released that teases a full reveal on April 27th. The environment appears to host the Mayan pyramids, which means Lara Croft will likely be surviving the treacherous Latin American jungle this time around. Check out the tease below.
