A trailer was released not too long ago for the film I Know That Voice. The film, being published by Dundee Entertainment and directed by Lawrence Shapiro, is a documentary that collects some of the most prolific voice actors in the business to talk about their experiences in the studio, and also their insights into voice acting overall. What’s most relevant to the gaming crowd, however, is that many of these voice actors have played roles in games, from Mass Effect to Nicktoons MLB, and the documentary hits on that even in the trailer.
It’s interesting to hear the voice actors speak about gaming in particular, since not many of them are known to be actual gamers. A good example of that is watching Jennifer Hale (painfully) playing Mass Effect 2.
It isn’t often that gamers get to hear from voice actors saying anything other than PR fluff about how excited they are to have the role they have. While that’s likely true, it’s nice to have some background information on what a voice actor considers philosophically important to their craft.
The documentary currently does not have a release date, also making it more familiar to gamers.
