Diablo III’s Templar Bug

On May 16, 2012 by Lindsey

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that a hotfix solution will be introduced to solve a very annoying problem encountered by Diablo III players, specifically those who play in the Demon Hunter class. This bug is called Error 3006, and according to Eurogamer, it boots players from the game entirely:

Eurogamer readers have reported being booted out of the Diablo 3 servers after interacting with the Templar follower, who you meet early in the game. They then receive the error 3006 message and are unable to log-in. Some players have found they have been completely locked out of their Battle.net account. The problem appears to trigger when you equip the Templar with a shield.

Until the solution is available, Blizzard Entertainment suggests that players avoid giving this Templar any equipment whatsoever, until the glitch has been solved.

What are your thoughts on this issue? How do you feel about a game like Diablo III, which requires internet connection even in single-player mode?
