Nintendo finally unveils the long rumored 3DS XL

On June 22, 2012 by Sarah Willis

Despite adamantly denying plans for an upcoming installment to their handheld lineup at E3, Nintendo recently announced a super-sized version of the 3DS, the 3DS XL. Similar to the DSi XL, the 3DS XL is not really a new system, but simply a bigger version of the 3DS itself, with little to no other real changes short of  longer battery life.

The 3DS XL will be launching in Japan on July 28th, and will make its way over to North America on August 19th.

Is the size upgrade worth the $199 price tag?
