Sony Working on New PS3 Model

GameInformer has reported that Sony is working on a new model for the PlayStation 3, thanks to decreasing costs of manufacturing. Matthew Kato describes the upgrade in his article:

Japanese site Pocket News reports that Sony has filed paperwork with the FCC for a new model PS3 with the model code CECH-4001X, as opposed to the current 3000 series.

It is still unclear whether the new PlayStation 3 will come with any upgraded capabilities or features, and a release date has not been announced.
