Final Fantasy XIII-3 to be announced soon?

During an interview with Famitsu, director Motomu Toriyama hinted that an official announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-3 would be coming soon. He said that, “”The Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off.”

Given that the DLC for Final Fantasy XII-2 officially ended with the release of Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess, Toriyama’s comment seems to suggest that the series will be continued (and possibly concluded) with another full length game.

Toriyama also suggested that there is no release date in sight for the highly anticipated HD remake of Final Fantasy X.
