Soul Calibur V added to Major League Gaming Pro Circuit

On March 7, 2012 by Jon Barajas

Major League Gaming has announced that competitor’s passes are now on sale for three fighting games: Mortal Kombat 9, King of Fighters XIII, and Soul Calibur V. During our review of Soul Calibur V, I focused on the online multiplayer component, seeing that many of the features that would assist the game becoming a legitimate eSport. I noted that many of the designs by Project Soul allow for easy access for observers, helping those who wish to study the games of skilled players; additionally, the replay system encouraged players to focus on the commands entered by others in order to study the flaws in their gameplay. Both of these features set the stage for a very competitive stage in Soul Calibur V and I am not at all surprised to see the game becoming legitimized as an eSport.

Players interested in competing may purchase a competitor’s pass here. Passes go on sale tonight at 6PM Central Standard Time.
